SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 17 – Bobby Weston was
charged with narcotics
conspiracy in 2005.
Fourteen years
later, after he was released
and returned to Jamaica, then
fled back to the U.S. "because
he feared for his safety and
his life," he was arrested on
June 28, 2019 during his
daughter's high school
graduation in
Poughkeepsie.
Weston has
been in the MCC, where he says
"the conditions are
inhumane... rats, roaches in
our rooms and lockers jumping
on you while you sleep."
On August
17 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge P. Kevin Castel held
a(nother) sentencing. Inner
City Press covered it.
Judge
Castel sentenced Weston to
time served plus 72 hours,
during which he said the
existing detainer could be
confirmed.
Nevertheless,
five more years of supervised
release were imposed.
The case is US v.
Weston, 04-cr-801 (Castel)
