Arrested With Gun in The
Bronx Nivar Passed GED and Gets Time Served in
SDNY

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 27 – Miguel Nivar was
arrested as a felon in
possession of a firearm, a
.380 caliber Ruger pistol, on
164th Street and Grant Avenue
in The Bronx on July 15,
2019.
On October 7 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Analisa Torres held his
sentencing.
The US
Attorney's Office sought 33 to
41 months.
They said that
while out on bond, the
defendant refused to comply
with police instructions at a
shooting site and was detained
by Magistrate Judge Stewart D.
Aaron then by Part
I.
Judge
Torres congratulated Nivar for
passing his GED exam, and gave
him a sentence of Time Served
and three years of supervised
release.
The case is US v.
Nivar, 19-cr-902 (Torres)
