SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 6 – Corey Peterson, as a
felon, is prohibited from
possessing firearms or
ammunition.
On January 6 he
pleaded guilty to just that,
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Cathy Seibel. Inner
City Press covered it.
But there
was more to the story.
Peterson
said he only had the bullets
because he had taken them from
his 11 year old son.
His son's
grandmother, he said, was
going to make sure the police
got the bullets the next day.
But Probation
came and did a search, and now
Peterson is in the
Metropolitan Correctional
Center.
His lawyer
Daveraux L. Cannick said there
were no meritorious defenses
but that the circumstances
will be brought up at
sentencing. That will be on
April 8 at 3:30 pm.
The case is US v.
Peterson, 20-cr-682 (Seibel)
