SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 28 – In 1949 the US
Department of Justice entered
into a "perpetual" antitrust
injunction against collusion
in the market for televisions,
against Scophony Corporation
of America, General Precision
Equipment Corporation and
Television Productions,
Inc.
On November 24,
the US Attorney's Office filed
a lawsuit now assigned to U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Paul G. Gardephe to Terminate
A Legacy Antitrust Judgment.
It says ViacomCBS
and Australia-based Thorn
Group Ltd as a successor of
Scophony consent to it, and
that others are not in
business.
The case is
US v. Scophony Corporation of
America, et al., 20-mc-509
(PGG)
