SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 24 –
Fernando Bautista was
sentenced to 36 months
imprisonment in 2012 in a drug
case. He was re-arrested on
January 5, 2021 and has been
in the Westchester County
Correctional Facility
since.
On March 24 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge J. Paul Oetken held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Oetken asked Bautista if he
consented, amid COVID, to
proceed virtually. Bautista
replied in the affirmative,
adding that "I got no
choice."
Earlier on
January 21 he had sent a
handwritten letter to Judge
Oetken, "I pray that you help
me move toward the right
treatment that I need."
Judge Oetken set
the next proceeding for May 5.
The case is US v.
Bautista, 12-cr-280 (Oetken)
