SDNY COURTROOM
Exclusive, Oct 27 – In the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
on October 27, a detention
proceeding was held by
Magistrate Judge Barbara C.
Moses on Roland Miller. Inner
City Press was there, the only
media in the Mag Court.
Miller, it
emerged, is from Jamaica and
lives in The Bronx. But the
warrant was from the Western
District of New York,
Rochester to be specific,
where he is charged with
cocaine distribution.
The
Assistant US Attorney argued
that Judge Moses should only
focus on Martin's lack of
connections to Rochester.
This was not
accepted, and Martin's quoted
statements were found to be
double hearsay and ambiguous.
He was ordered released on
$75,000 bond but one co-signer
must sign before he is
released.
In obtaining his
Federal Defender, Martin had
to explain his $1000 a month
to rent a storefront for his
planned "Chill Zone"
restaurant. This came after
SDNY District Judge Jesse M.
Furman granted Inner City
Press' application
to unseal (most of) Michael
Avenatti's financial affidavit
to get Federal Defenders. But
another proceeding, with more
/ full disclosure, we are not
here reporting on.
This case is US
v. Martin, 21-mj-10287
(Moses)
