SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 10 – Sumeera Rasul sued
The Interpublic Group of
Companies for racial
discrimination.
On January 10, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Loretta A. Preska held a
conference. Inner City Press
covered it.
Rasul
alleges that Eric Lynch at
Interpublic would visit her
workspace "to say negative
things, like her presence /
proximity was ruining her
'zen.'" Rasul was terminated
on November 22, 2019.
Judge
Preska asked the parties to
exchange documents - then why
not try to settle? What did
they have to lose? She offered
to do her own settlement
conference, something many
other District Judges refer
out to Magistrate Judges.
She wished
counsel and family to see
better. The next conference is
on March 22.
The case is
Rasul v. R/GA Media Group,
Inc., et al., 21-cv-2999
