SDNY COURTROOM
Exclusive, Dec 15 – In the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
on the late afternoon of
December 15, a detention
proceeding was held by
Magistrate Judge Gabriel W.
Gorenstein on a defendant
charged with being a felon in
possession of ammunition.
There was more to
it - the use of ammo was said
by the Assistant US Attorney
to be in connection with
shooting at his ex's
apartment. Reference was made
to a state domestic violence
charge.
Judge
Gorenstein ordered the
defendant detained as a danger
to the community.
This case, still
after the proceeding listed in
PACER as sealed, it assigned
to a District Judge: US v.
Carter, 21-cr-538 (Furman /
Gorenstein). It was said the
next appearance is January 6
before Judge Jesse M. Furman,
with time under the Speedy
Trial Act excluded until then.
