SDNY COURTROOM
Exclusive, Dec 15 – In the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
on the late afternoon of
December 15, a detention or
release proceeding was held by
Magistrate Judge Gabriel W.
Gorenstein on a defendant
charged with violating his
supervised release by
committing wire fraud with a
cell phone, after pleading
guilty to access device fraud
in 2018.
In the
earlier case, the defendant
had paid back over $4000 to
Investors Bank in New Jersey.
The US
Attorney's Office agreed to
release on his own
recognizance, no bond.
Judge
Gorenstein said he would not
write down as conditions the
mere compliance with existing
law.
This case is US
v. Javier , 20-cr-604 (Woods /
Gorenstein). It was said the
next appearance is January 5
before Judge Gregory H. Woods
in Courtroom 12D, with time
under the Speedy Trial Act
excluded until then.
