SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 15 – Armon Grim was
charged in early 2018 with
robbing chain pharmacies in
The Bronx and Manhattan. On
September 14, 2018 he was
sentenced to time served plus
two weeks, and three years of
supervised
release.
On August
31 he was to appear on a phone
call with U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Valerie E.
Caproni. Inner City Press was
covering it.
But Grim
did not call in.
Judge
Caproni scheduled another call
for September 8 at 3:30 pm,
and said if Grim misses that
one, she will sign a warrant
for his arrest. Then another
conference, last last chance,
on September 15 at 3 pm. Inner
City Press called in.
Grim did not call
in. His lawyer asked that no
warrant be issued.
Judge Caproni
said she too wants Mr Grim to
find housing and treatment but
he cannot skip court dates
like this. She signed a
warrant but asked the
Marshals, when the execute it,
to tell her Chambers as
quickly as possible to try to
take it up the same day. Inner
City Press will stay on this
case.
The case is US v.
Grim, 18-cr-324 (Caproni)
