SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 15 – Viktoryia Polanco
says she worked at Le Souk at
510 LaGuardia Place, and has
sued under the Fair Labor
Standards Act.
But the defendant
on July 15 told U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Gregory H. Woods she had no
claim. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Woods began
by directing defense counsel
to the phone numbers on his
website, that anyone could
have timely found.
Then he discussed
and endorsed a case management
plan with motions due December
16.
On
December 7 Judge Woods held
another proceeding in the
case, which Inner City Press
also covered. Talk was of a
virtual bench trial, whether
to use Zoom or Microsoft Teams
as successor to Skype, and
whether lawyers would set up a
podium in their remote
location or just sit at a
desk. Inner City Press hopes
to cover the trial - to see
it, as took place December 7
in a case in the District of
Massachusetts, here.
The case is
Polanco et al v. York Food
Corp. et al., 19-cv-8815
(Woods)
