SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 30 – Luz Garcia
sued the US EPA for
discrimination, in part
because her supervisor John
Gorman "routinely made
comments to Garcia about her
Hispanic accent, that he
'could not understand' her
because of her accent."
On June 30
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding in the case. Inner
City Press covered
it.
The
parties were directed to file
a status letter following a
July 10 mediation session (the
EPA's AUSA said no
discrimination
occurred). Then the
whole matter was put off until
February 2021.
The case is
Garcia v. Wheeler. 19-cv-8482
(Liman).
