SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 15 –
Rashawn Assanah is charged
with smuggling contraband into
an NYC Department of
Corrections jail on Rikers
Island while a corrections
officer
there.
On June 15, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Colleen McMahon held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
McMahon asked for more
detailed. Smuggled in, it
seems, were a cell phone and a
wrench. Assanah was paid by
the wife of Inmate-1, the
complaint says.
Judge
McMahon told the US Attorney's
Office to complete producing
discovery by June 30. She set
the next conference for
September 21.
The case is US v.
Assanah, 21-cr-351 (McMahon)
