SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 10 – Sixto Ortiz
was convicted of being an
armed career criminal in
possession of a firearm, in a
case stretching back to 2012.
He has been in
detention since January,
charged with violations of
supervised
release.
On March 10
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, now Second Circuit Judge
Richard J. Sullivan held a
sentencing. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Sullivan
asked questions, and remarked
that he had been with the case
and defendant for some time.
Faced with a
request to impose five months,
he instead imposed four
months, minus the time already
served. He did not impose
supervised release.
He wished the
defendant well.
The case is US v.
Ortiz, 12-cr-791
(Sullivan)
