SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 26–
Juan Ortega, a self-described
blind man, sued Dykes Lumber
Company. for having an
inaccessible website. He
presumably wanted to buy
lumber.
On March 24, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Gabriel W.
Gorenstein held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
This is
one in a series of ADA website
cases. On March 22 Judge John
G. Koeltl asked about the
volume of purported purchase
attempts, and standing. Judge
Gorenstein asked about
mediation.
The case is
Ortega v. Dykes Lumber
Company, Inc., 21-cv-10064
(Carter / Gorenstein)
