SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 6 – Larry McKee served
20 years for allegedly killing
Theodore Vance on 176th Street
and University Avenue on
February 19, 1996.
Now he has sued
for all that time, and the
issue is how to structure the
payment.
On March
5, U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered
it.
The lawyers
have asked to restore the
lawsuit to Judge Hellerstein's
calendar.
The problem is
the Court of Claims Act and
the interplay of State and
City settlements.
Judge
Hellerstein suggested filing
the terms in a sealed annex.
The case is McKee
v. City of New York et al.,
18-cv-11230 (Hellerstein)
