SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, April 15- In
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on April 15, a detention
or release proceeding was held
by Magistrate Judge Ona T.
Wang on a 24 year old man
charged with Hobbs Act robbery
of luxury stores, including
with recently convicted Eric
Spencer.

Magistrates
Court as it

sometimes
alone in the
gallery, as it
was on April
15.
The
defendant was described by the
AUSA was robbing a da Vinci
store, and a Rio Rio. No guns,
however, were used. There was
a pushing in and a guard who
said he was terrified.
The AUSA
said that robberies could be
coordinated from home
incarceration. After a break,
Judge Wang ordered release on
$15,000 bond with Pre Trial
Services to search the
defendant's phone. (The Pre
Trial Services representative
said this might raise search
and seizure issues).
The case, still
under seal as the proceeding
ended, is US v. Garcia,
22-mj-3306 (Wang)
