SDNY COURTHOUSE,
September 1 – Minerva Gomez
has worked for the NYC Board
of Education since 1996. But
ast P.S. 155, she says, in
September 2018 Principal Maria
Sulit-Torres discriminated
against her on the basis of
age. She
sued.
On September 1 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The City
has filed a motion to dismiss,
but Ms. Gomez said she is
prepared to amend her
complaint.
On that
basis, Judge Netburn dismissed
the motion to dismiss. The
amended complaint should be
coming.
The case is Gomez
v. New York City Department of
Education et al., 21-cv-1711
(Torres / Netburn)
