SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 19 – Jose Flores pled
guilty to fentanyl sales in
The Bronx.
On July 19, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Chief Judge Laura Taylor Swain
held his sentencing. Inner
City Press covered it.
The
Assistant US Attorney
emphasized that Flores
specialized in deadly
fentanyl, and bragged on
social media about how much
money he was making, thereby
luring other neighborhood
youths into the trade.
He said there was
a need for a serious sentence,
ask for 121 to 151
months.
The defense
asked for the mandatory
minimum of 60 months.
After hearing
from both sides, Chief Judge
Swain arrived at a sentence of
90 months, followed by five
years of supervised release.
The case is US v.
Flores, 20-cr-126 (Swain).
