SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 13 – The National Lampoon
hired Evan Shapiro as its
President - then accused him
of stealing money for it, no
joke. It sued, under
RICO.
On January
13, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Analisa Torres held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Torres told Shapiro to
hold off filing motions, to
allow the Lampoon to file an
amended complaint.
The initial
complaint, reviewed by Inner
City Press, accuses Shapiro of
stealing money from Quibi, the
Let's Go Atsuko short form
series.
The case is NLI
Holdings, LLC v. LGA
Productions, LLC et al.,
20-cv-9292 (Torres)
