SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, May 25 - In
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on May 25, a detention or
release proceeding was held by
Magistrate Judge Robert W.
Lehrburger on a man who had
been arrested and detained
four months before in the
District of Arizona.
Jose
Luis Davila Santacruz was
arrested on January 29 in
Arizona, as part of a
multi-defendant drug case
indicted in SDNY in 2021. But
it took nearly four months to
transfer him from Arizona to
New York - Inner City Press
surmises, through the BOP
"HUB" in Oklahoma.
This could be
contrasted with the fast
transfer of Michael Avenatti
by US Marshals from California
to New York for sentencing.
The Assistant US Attorney
committed to look into it,
pending a next conference on
July 6 at 11:30 am.
This case is US
v. Davila
Santarosa,
21-cr-754
(Keenan /
Lehrburger)
