SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, June 22 - In
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on June 22, a detention
or release proceeding was held
by Magistrate Judge Gabriel W.
Gorenstein on a defendant
charged with being a felon in
possession of ammunition.
Inner City Press was there.
The key,
Judge Gorenstein said, was the
photo on the defendant's phone
of him with a ghost gun, and
the vials of crack cited by
the Assistant US Attorney.
Sergio
Cepeda's lawyer pointed out
that the actual charge is
possession of ammunition, that
his client's sister and
brother in law were in the
gallery (where Inner City
Press was), and that he worked
for the Department of
Transportation.
But
there was no answer about the
photo of the gun. Judge
Gorenstein ordered pre-trial
detention.
The case is US v.
Cepeda, 22-mj-5155
(Gorenstein)
