SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, Aug 1 - In the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
on August 1, a defendant pled
guilty to conspiracy to bring
meth on a truck to NYC, and to
not appeal any sentence below
168 months. Inner City
Press was the only media
there.
Jorge
Espino Hernandez, after being
spotted at a hotel in New
Jersey with the drugs, was
arrested on November 12, 202.
He and his CJA lawyer in June
2022 wrote in to adjourn a
June 15 conference, "to
facilitate plea discussions."
And
without notice, and any other
media present, Hernandez in a
yellow jail jump suit pleaded
guilty on August 1, before
Magistrate Judge Katharine H.
Parker, with a control date
for sentencing of November 1.
He faced deportation, after
the up to 14 year prison
sentence.
The case is US v.
Hernandez, 20-cr-659 (McMahon
/ Parker).
