SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, September 28
- In the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York on August
8, 2022 a detention or release
proceeding was held by
Magistrate Judge Robert W.
Lehrburger on a defendant,
Peter Schleger, charged with
making threats against former
US President Donald Trump.
He emailed DOJ
that "if you can't unsubscribe
me I will blow up a school,
shoot Trump, shoot Garland,
shoot you."
Schleger was
interviewed and said he
"believes that former
President Trump is trying to
get his supporters into
political office so that they
can claim that former
President Trump won the 2020
election." Complaint on
Inner City Press'
DocumentCloud here.
He was
released the same day, on
$50,000 bond. Inner City Press
was there.
Notably,
the defendant was said to have
substantial assets - an estate
- and a friend or romantic
connection in Colombia. He
nevertheless got and has a
taxpayer funded Federal
Defender.
Judge
Lehrburger told him he would
be released but should turn in
his passport and find one
financial responsible person
to co-sign at a date in the
future.
He was
told not to go near Trump
Tower or other Trump
properties, with golf courses
the example given.
On September 28,
very quietly, he got a
Deferred Prosecution
Agreement, with the case
dropped if he does no more in
the next six months - and does
"not visit any properties
owned or controlled by" Trump
or his companies. And, no new
social media accounts.
The case is US v.
Schleger, 22-mj-6442
(Lehrburger)
