SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 11 – Brian Watson sued
Lexus of Manhattan in June
2020 for sending out
unsolicited text messages in
violation of the TCPA. Then
this year a similar case was
filed.
On March
11, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Lorna G.
Schofield held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it. Judge
Schofield suggested that
consolidating the cases made
sense.
The initial
plaintiffs' counsel said that
slow the case down four to six
months. But the facts are
similar; only the newer text
messages must be added and
inquired into.
Consolidation was granted,
under the docket number of the
2020 case.
It is Watson et
al v. Manhattan Luxury
Automobiles, Inc., 20-cv-4572
(Schofield)
