SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, August 11 -
In the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on August 8, a detention
or release proceeding was held
by Magistrate Judge Robert W.
Lehrburger on a defendant,
Cesar Vasquez Jordan, charged
with trying to sell over 50
weapons, including AK-47s,
from Ohio into The Bronx.
Inner City Press was there.
Vasquez
Jordan is only 19 years old.
His Federal Defender asked
that he be released to his
mother in Columbus, Ohio.
Judge Lehrburger
said he didn't know enough
about the mother and the home
environment. The Federal
Defender offered to arrange a
Zoom conference on Friday, the
last day of Judge Lehrburger's
week presiding in the
Magistrates Court.
Judge
Lehrburger said he would
listen to anything, but that
Federal Defenders might want
to take up to a week to
prepare. Vasquez Jordan was
remanded into detention
Inner City
Press, the only media in the
SDNY Magistrates Court, will
have more on this exclusive.
The case is US v.
Vasquez Jordan, 22-mj-6420
(Lehrburger)
