SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, August 16 -
In the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on August 16, two
arraignments in a single case
were held by Magistrate Judge
Barbara C. Moses.
The
defendants had been presented
and released on bond with GPS
bracelets in July. Now they
had been indicted.
The
lead defendant Axel Jesus
Cardona Cardona speaks
English. His co-defendant Cruz
Alejandro Baires Navoa
followed him in pleading not
guilty, but through an
interpreter.
They were
arrested in July and charged
with selling one brick of
cocaine in a parking lot in
the Bronx. The initial
complaint referred to Axel as
Alex, but that was fixed.
Now the
case has been assigned to
District Judge Torres, and a
control date of August 30 set.
The case is US v.
Cardona Cardona, et al.,
22-cr-434 (Torres / Moses)
