SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 9 – Joseph Pagan sued
C.I. Lobster Corp. for failure
to pay minimum wage and
overtime.
On December 21, 2021 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge
Stewart D. Aaron held a
discovery proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
The two
sides' lawyer sniped at each
other, one calling the other
intellectually dishonest.
Judge Aaron
ordered the defense to provide
the requested documents by
September under threat of
sanctions.
He advised both
sides to cooperate and "stop
throwing grenades."
On March 9
Judge Aaron held another
proceeding, and Inner City
Press again covered it. This
time he questioned whether
counsel was fighting to keep
Federal jurisdiction even if
it meant less for the client.
Clients being informed of
offers was questioned. Judge
Aaron reminded, You are
officers of the court. A
letter about conditional
certification was requested by
March 23.
The case is
Pagan v. C.I. Lobster Corp. et
al., 20-cv-7349 (Carter /
Aaron)
