SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 21 – Anthony
Perez-Batista, after being
deported from the US to the
Dominican Republic, re-entered
through Mexico. He was
arrested and has been in the
MCC.
On August
21 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Ronnie Abrams held a
sentencing. Inner City Press
covered it.
Perez-Batista's lawyer said
there are now two chicken pox
cases in the MCC.
Perez-Batista himself said his
mother in sick in Dominican
Republic and he would just
like to return there.
Judge
Abrams urged that when he is
removed, he not return as he
will be arrested again. She
sentenced him to a year and a
day, which will be followed by
ICE detention and removal.
The case is
