SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 24 – Shoendale Jarrett
was charged in 2019 with being
a felon in possession of
ammunition, to wit, two .38
caliber bullets, on Cruger
Avenue in The Bronx.
On March
22, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Lorna G. Schofield
held a lengthy in-person Wade
hearing. Inner City Press
covered it.
There was
detailed questioning and cross
examination about body camera
footage and identification,
and playing of video and audio
of the encounter.
Near 7 pm Judge
Schofield said she had hoped
to rule the same day, but
instead scheduled a final
argument in two days.
On March 24,
Inner City Press also covered
this proceeding. Judge
Schofield issued a detailed
oral ruling excluding Officer
Ortiz' identification - but
leaving in the testimony of
Officers Hicks and Williams.
Then, a consent motion to
inspect jury selection
records, a la Balde.
The case is US v.
Jarrett, 19-cr-670 (Schofield)
