SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 1 – Akim Murray was
accused of stealing a million
dollars from NYC HRA, where he
worked. He was sentenced to 63
months in jail.
On
February 1, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Richard M. Berman held a
supervision hearing. Inner
City Press covered
it.
Judge Berman
asked Murray about getting a
job. Murray said, It's
hard.
Back on
October 8, 2020 Judge Berman
asked, "Mr. Murray, any luck
with locating a new job or is
it tough out there?"
THE DEFENDANT: It's tough out
here, but I'm still looking.
Judge Berman: Did someone else
join the call? No.
On February 1, Judge Berman
asked Probation to help,
saying that getting a job is
the way to end supervision
early. Another proceeding was
set for March 2.
The case is US v.
Murray, 14-cr-613 (Berman)
