SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, Oct 5 - In
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on October 5, a detention
or bond proceedings was held
by Magistrate Judge Sarah L.
Cave. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
Mag Court.
The
defendant was Jose Castro, who
still to supervised release
under a 2012 criminal case is
charged with assault and thus
violating his supervised
release.
He said
loudly that he had been set
up, and that his previous
lawyer who did not wanted to
continue representing him
always hated him. He was heard
to say, "Max me out," a phrase
Inner City Press heard only
the day before in EDNY from a
cooperator, who definite it
for the jury as to serve the
whole term.
Castro in
this instance consented to
detention without prejudice;
he will appear before Judge
Preska in mid November.
The case is US v.
Castro, 12-cr-863 (Preska /
Cave)
