SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 27 – Carlos Ruiz Florez, a
resident of Queens, New York,
is in a wheelchair and was
hindered from accessing Pisces
Bar & Tavern at 543 8th
Avenue in Manhattan. In 2019,
he sued.
On August
21 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Ronnie Abrams held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
There had
been a default, then a vacatur
of default.
Now depositions
are due to finished by
November 15, and expert
discovery was extended from
November 15 to December
15.
The premises have
not even been inspected yet,
more than nine months after
the case was filed.
Call it ADA in
the time of COVID.
The case is Ruiz
Florez v. Pisces Bar &
Tavern, Inc., 19-cv-11032
(Abrams).
