SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 9 – Jose Luis Colon-Cruz
is charged with distributing
cocaine in The Bronx.
On November 19,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge William H. Pauley III
held a change of plea
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it. Judge Pauley
asked Colon-Cruz what drug it
was. Cocaine.
And where? "In
the Bronx area."
The complaint
describes cross-country
tractor trailer trucks, and
$115,000 in a plastic bag.
The
sentencing was set for March
11 at 11 am.
Then Judge
Pauley passed away (RIP). Now
to Judge P. Kevin Castel,
co-defendant Victom
Escalante's white shoe CJA
counsel has asked to seal much
of *his* sentencing
submission, eight lines on
page two, asking for a
non-incarceratory sentence or
designation to El Paso. Watch
this site.
The overall case
is US v. Colon-Cruz et al.,
19-cr-911 (Castel)
