SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 29 – Agustin Camano
Anzurez sued three individuals
and La Caridad 78 Restaurant
for not paying overtime. The
restaurant never showed
up.
On
October 29 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Jesse M. Furman
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
While the
individual "answering
defendants did not need to
appear at the default judgment
hearing," the split made one
wonder if the rule that
corporations, no matter how
small, cannot appear pro
se through an officer or
proprietor does not make them
easy targets or pickings.
The case is
Anzurez et al v. La Unica
Caridad inc. et al.,
20-cv-3828 (Furman)
