SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 26 – William Bryant
sued the City of New York
Department of Corrections for
having allowed him to be
beaten up in prison while a
Corrections Officer "did
nothing to prevent it, he also
allowed others to rob my cell
of property, food, books and
other property and pictures of
deceased family
members."
On August
26 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Gregory H. Woods held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
What
emerged that was no steps were
taken by the City to preserve
evidence. Video is only kept
for 90 days unless flagged;
this video was not flagged
despite Bryant suing a month
after the incident.
Judge
Woods told the Government
lawyers to look into this and
respond very carefully.
The case is
Bryant v. City of New York et
al., 19-cv-7335 (Woods)
