SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 9 – When Anthony Neville
came up for sentencing on
January 9, his CJA lawyer had
written, "On or about August
1, 2018, Mr. Neville committed
a robbery of another
individual by use of
fire."
But there was
more to it that that.
To
collect on a $100 crack debt,
Neville pushed into an
apartment on 148th Street in
The Bronx, tied the victim /
debtor up and cut both of
their shoulders with a box
cutter. Then after using
broken glass he sent them on
fire.
The US
Attorney's office offered a
plea deal to ten years
imprisonment.
US District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Deborah A. Batts,
calling the crime horrific,
imposed the ten years. They
will apparently be served in
Florida. The case is US v.
Neville, 18-cr-839
(Batts).
