SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 27 – Latino and
African-American NYPD officers
sued the Department in 2015
for discrimination and..
quotas. The Complaint stated
that "PO Adhyl Polanco, a
named plaintiff in this
action, testified that he was
told at a daily roll call that
he had to log at least five
stop and frisks, make one
arrest and write 20 tickets
each month."
Jump cut five years forward.
On May 14, 2020, the case
appeared in front of U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah L.
Cave. She admonished
plaintiffs' counsel John Scola
of trying to blame his
limitation on his own
discovery on the
Court. Then Judge
Cave pivoted, and said she was
trying to split the baby -
that is, make justice - and
wished the two sides would
help. She promised a written
order on May 15. Inner City
Press will continue to cover
this case. It is Raymond, et
al., v. City of New York, et
al., 15-cv-6885 (Swain /
Cave).
