SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 3 -- Jose Santana
has not one but two Violation
of Supervised Release
proceedings against him in the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York.
On March 3 he
appeared in the SDNY
Magistrates Court, with Inner
City Press the only media in
the gallery.
Reference was made to his case
before SDNY District Judge
Paul G. Gardephe, and another
before SDNY Judge Lorna G.
Schofield.
In the
latter there was a hearing
back on November 26, 2019 at
which Judge Schofield noted,
"I see that Mr. Santana is not
here. Mr. Fiddleman, will you
remind me where we
stand?"
Assistant US
Attorney Jacob Fiddleman
replied, "This matter is one
of two simultaneous supervised
release violation proceedings
that are going on in this
courthouse with respect to the
defendant. The other
proceeding is currently
pending before Judge
Gardephe."
On March 3,
another Federal Defender
appeared standing in for Baum.
Santana was detained on
consent. But who gets him next
- Judge Schofield or Judge
Gardephe? The announced case
was 16-cr-312, US v. Santana
(Schofield).
