Change of Counsel in Multi Defendant Meth Case in SDNY Triggers 60 Day Delay

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Maxwell Book
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 6 – Fransisco Javier Mecina Barrera is indicted in a multi-defendant meth case

On March 4, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Victor Marrero held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

There was a change of counsel, to a/the CJA attorney, who said he'd need 60 days to get up to speed. Judge Marrero picked May 13 at 11 am.

Then the Assistant US Attorney said they'd like to set a trial date in the third or fourth quarter, since the indictment was unsealed a year ago.

The case is US v. De La Mora et al., 21-cr-133 (Marrero)
