SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 11 – Zhongzhi Hi-Tech
Overseas Investment Ltd. sued
Wenyong Shi to enforce an
arbitral award. But serving
the papers on Shi was not
easy.
On September 2,
2022, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Loretta A. Preska
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Shi's dodging of
service was characterized as
in bad faith. Judge Cote
signed an order permitting
service under FRCP 4(f)(3) on
his U.S. counsel in a related
action.
On
September 8, Judge Preska
issued a order for the parties
to confer and write to the
Court with a proposed briefing
schedule.
The case is
Zhongzhi Hi-Tech Overseas
Investment Ltd. v. Wenyong
Shi, 22-cv-6977 (Preska)
