SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 27 – Joshua Alba was to
be sentenced on charges of
honest services wire fraud,
for his role in smuggling in
packages to Riker's Island
inmates when he worked there.
On April 27, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lorna G. Schofield held the
sentencing proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
Alba now
works as the manager of a
C-Town supermarket. His lawyer
asked for time served, and
Alba apologized when it was
his turn to talk.
Judge Schofield
agreed to time served, but
added six months of home
detention, leaving only for
work, religious services and
anything approved by
Probation.
The case is US v.
Alba, 20-cr-298 (Schofield)
