Woman On Emirates Flight To Iran Hit By Liquor Bottles From Overhead Bin So Sues in SDNY

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 28 – A passenger on an Emirates Airlines flight to Iran was hit on the head by heavy bottles of alcohol and sued.

Albany, NY resident Franzaneh Jazayeri bought the ticket over the Internet from "CheapOair" on Emirates, from Newark to Tehran with stops in Athens and Dubai. Then the bottles of liquor fell out of an overhead compartment.

The lawsuit, citing April 17 of the Montreal Convention, has been assigned to Judge Sidney H. Stein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, which Inner City Press covers daily and where it found the case in the docket.

Emirates' bare bones answer to date admits that the plaintiff was on the manifest of Flight EK210, a Boeing 777-300 ER Jet 200-345. But the large bottles of alcohol?

The case is Jazayeri v. The Emirates Group et al., 20-cv-8845 (Stein).
