SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 3 – Back on
March 28, 2017 Charles
Kenyatta pleaded guilty to
narcotics conspiracy.
On December
3 he appeared again before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Denise L. Cote, to be
arraigned on a violation of
supervised release.
But the
video didn't work.
Judge Cote
decided it could proceeding,
but she wanted to be assured
that the defendant whom she
could not see was, in fact,
Charles Kenyatta.
She asked his
date of birth - given - and if
he had appeared before her
before and he gave the date.
Call it the
COVID-era audio only caller
ID.
The case is US v.
Kenyatta, 16-cr-273 (Cote)
