SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 9 – Rosa Lee Richardson
was in the Harlem Center for
Nursing and Rehabilitation on
West 138th Street on December
3, 2019 when she told her
daughter she was looking
forward to coming home.
By the next day,
she was dead. The daughter
sued.
On December 9
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alison J. Nathan held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Also being sued
is Unity Funeral Chapel, which
after the dead said it had too
little refrigeration space.
After much
buck-passing, the body was
found in on a loading dock -
there is a photograph in the
Complaint, with the
temperature being 69 degrees
F. Still, they want to move to
dismiss the complaint.
Judge
Failla said plaintiff came
amend the complaint by
December 31, with defendants'
motions due on January 29.
The case is
Watkins v. Harlem Center for
Nursing and Rehabilitation,
LLC et al, 20-cv-2919 (Failla)
