SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 2 – Nashid Ahmed was
denied U.S. naturalization -
and has sued for a de novo
review.
On
September 2 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge J.
Paul Oetken held a proceeding
without a court reporter. But
Inner City Press covered
it.
Ms. Ahmed
is a citizen of Bangladesh who
live in The Bronx. She says
she married Mohammed Atiar
Rasul, a U.S. Citizen, on
September 15,
2012.
Counsel for the
governmental defendants made a
point of alleging lies about
marriage. Judge Oetken asked
how discovery usually goes in
these cases. Then he signed an
order with expert discovery
due by February 14, 2022.
The case is Ahmed
v. Barr, et al., 19-cv-10954
