SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 29 – Casimir Griffin is
under Supervised Release and
was charged, on April 12, 2019
with having and using a gun in
Newburgh, New
York.
On August 27 in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York,
now Second Circuit Judge
Richard J. Sullivan held an
evidentiary hearing. Inner
City Press covered it.
Over the
course of three hours, the
incident was described by
witnesses and shown on video.
The AUSA asked, Don't you
prefer that Mr. Griffin not
stay in jail for this? He's
innocent, was the response.
Several times Judge Sullivan
asked the witnesses questions
about what they saw in the
video, and said, let's see
more of the video.
When it was over
the AUSA said he wanted only
written submissions and asked
for a month. No way: two weeks
only. The defense wants
oral arguments.
The case is US v.
Griffin, 11-cr-936 (Sullivan)
