SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 8 – Cochese Gregory was
charged in 2020 with
violations of supervised
release, which the government
later said it could not prove.
But there's more.
On
April 8, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Analisa Torres
held another VOSR proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
The new
charge seems to involve
marijuana, now legal in New
York State but still not at
the Federal level. Gregory's
defense lawyer said they want
a hearing. Judge Torres,
sounding perhaps surprised,
scheduled it for May 26.
Then she she
endeavored to speak to Mr.
Gregory, the Microsoft Teams
interface didn't work.
Defense counsel
said he prefers Zoom, but
there might be some security
issue with it. So will the
hearing be in-person, with a
call-in line?
The case is US v.
Gregory, 17-cr-514
(Torres)
