SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 20 – Jamilla Clark
and Arwa Aziz sued the City of
New York for being forced to
remove their hijabs, as
Muslim-American
women.
On January 19, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Katharine H.
Parker held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered it.
Plaintiffs argued that
individual assessment are not
needed. They cited a decision
requiring the provision of
both Sunni and Shia services.
Talk turned
to how to reach out to
putative class members; the
answer included social media.
The case is Clark
et al v. City of New York,
18-cv-2334 (Torres /
Parker)
