SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 20 – In a multi-defendant
robbery conspiracy case, on
July 20 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Jed S. Rakoff
held a scheduling proceeding.
Counsel including
Lisa Scolari asked that the
trial be moved back from
November or December.
Judge Rakoff, who
earlier in the day had held an
in-person proceeding in this
courtroom that Inner City
Press reported on, said he
would only push the trial back
to January 19, pending the
"Assignment Committee."
Another of
the lawyers mentioned another
trial schedule for that time.
Judge Rakoff noted the 97% of
Federal criminal cases settle.
This case is US
v. Smith et al., 20-cr-153
(Rakoff)
